Natural Academy and COVID-19
At the Natural Academy we’re sensing into the need for a safe, proactive and appropriate response to the health crisis. Our heart goes out to the individuals and communities in all countries affected by the illness.
Keeping our students, participants and teachers safe is essential.
We are continuing our work because it fits into current advice from Public Health England. Also we know that through our trainings we are committed to finding a positive response for our individual selves and the whole human community to this crisis, to the climate crisis, ecological crisis and the human health crisis. Our programmes are designed to build health, wellbeing, resilience, meaning and purpose. To find in outdoor nature based experiences ways to be with the deep unknowing and uncertainty that is the truth of our fragile and wondrous existence.
Here is the link to Public Health England website which updates advice and recommended actions. We will be following this advice and other current UK Government advice.
What you can do
We ask that you as a student also follow this advice for your self and for others.
For students on longer courses your tutor will make sure you are updated with everything covered on the weekend or intensive that you miss.
When to stay home: Here is the current advice.
Everyone with flu-like symptoms - defined as a fever of above 37.8C or a persistent cough - is being asked to stay at home for at least seven days.
Anyone who has travelled to an affected area, or who has been in close contact with an infected person, had already been asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
Spending 15 minutes within 2m (6ft) of someone with the virus, or having face-to-face contact, is judged as close contact and a significant risk.
